Coaches do NOT have it all figured out. 👀​

Lately, I keep hearing people say that coaches seem like they're better than everyone else, which ... ok, I kinda get that.

I mean, I myself am constantly targeted with ads from coaches training coaches to train coaches (to train coaches). You've seen one proprietary five-step system, you've seen 'em all, amirite?
​
Not to mention how ridiculous both extremes of the industry sound:

🔥 The bro influencers who tell you that IF YOU'RE NOT TAKING A F*CKING COLD PLUNGE AT 4 A.M. AND OPTIMIZING THE SH*T OUT OF YOUR MORNING ROUTINE THEN WTF ARE YOU EVEN DOING WITH YOUR LIFE

😇 The enlightened healers who tell you that you can resolve your ancestral wounds and move beyond your three-dimensional blocks through embodied inner child work and chakra alignment within the heart-centered space lovingly held for you​
​
Now, I love a good cold plunge just as much as the next gal, and I'm not above some akashic record healing either.
​
But can we just be real people?

Take me, for example.
​
I have $200K worth of professional education, including:
✔ An MA in counseling psychology
✔ Psychoanalytic training
✔ Corporate leadership training
✔ Three coaching certifications
​
My background is in corporate leadership, operations, and mental health counseling.
​
I'm great at time management and boundaries, and as a single parent, I’ve been my own best test subject for how to create systems that keep things running smoothly and are fun for everyone.
​
I’ve successfully switched careers twice. Coaching is my third career, and I absolutely love it -- I get to work with talented, interesting women and help them create lives they don't want to escape from.
​

That’s the impressive side of things. ​

The flip side of all that is that most of my real learning has come from the unimpressive side: ​
​
✔ Addiction (I learned about boundaries)
✔ Rock bottom moments (yes, more than one) (I learned resilience)
✔ Harmful relationships (I learned to quiet the inner critic)
✔ Toxic environments (I learned self-trust)
​
I've been sober for 14 years, but you could even say that all those impressive certifications are an addiction, too -- although it doesn't get me in nearly as much trouble as the drinking did.
​
AND, this coaching-as-a-business thing is really f*cking hard.

Coaching? Love it! It's the best!

Being a one-person Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Biz Dev department? Kinda horrible sometimes! I've cried on the floor more than once this year.

So I'm figuring it all out right along with you.

AND:

2⃣ Coaching IS magical. ✨

We coaches don't have it all figured out -- but the best of us know how to figure stuff out.

We’re trained to help you figure your stuff out, too, and we want to use our experience to help make your journey smoother than ours has been.

There's a huge competitive advantage in having someone who can hold a vision of what's possible for you, during those hard times when you lose sight of it yourself.

Because at the end of the day, we’re all walking each other home on this adventure, right?
